About

Adrian is originally from Cambridge, MA and received his B.A. in Mechanical Engineering from Harvard College. During his undergraduate studies, he spent two years as a research assistant at the MIT Media Lab’s Biomechatronics Group, where he worked on prosthetic socket design for the Sierra Leone Orthotics and Prosthetics Program, developing sockets made of banana fibers as a locally sourced alternative to carbon fiber. He also completed fieldwork with Engineers Without Borders in the Dominican Republic on a water distribution system, and conducted post-hurricane electrical infrastructure analysis across seven communities in Puerto Rico. He joined MBL as a Summer Research Assistant in Summer 2026, working alongside Sarah Deiters on the bendable osteochondral allograft (BOCA) project for thumb osteoarthritis. Combined with his interest in human-centered design and social impact, Adrian aims to bridge mechanical engineering and translational medical device research to create tools that meaningfully serve the communities they’re built for.
Adrian recently relocated to Brooklyn and loves exploring the parks and coffee shops around the city. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, thrifting, going to the gym, and working as a barista. He’s also a passionate soccer player and mentors K-21 students in engineering and design through Curious Cardinals.
