About

Originally from Bakersfield, CA, Anna attended Cornell University where she received a BS in Biomedical Engineering with a concentration in Biomechanics and Mechanobiology. In the van der Meulen Lab, Anna studied the role of estrogen receptor α in osteoblasts and mechanical loading in bone and articular cartilage.

Anna joined the Musculoskeletal Biomechanics Lab in March 2023. In the MBL, her work focuses on cartilage wear by fatigue failure. Another focus in the lab is examining the effect of temperature on the compressive modulus of immature bovine articular cartilage.

Outside of the lab, Anna enjoys running and playing tennis. As a California native, she loves a warm sunny day spent outside.
