CV, Katie, and Kim each present their research at SB3C

Congrats to our lab members for presenting at the 2024 Summer Biomechanics, Bioengineering, and Biotransport Conference in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

CV gave a podium presentation on human wear titled "The Protective Effect of Synovial Fluid Against Cartilage Fatigue Wear Is Concentration Dependent" which sparked dialogue amongst labs studying cartilage lubrication and wear.

Katie presented on "Machining Living Osteochondral Allografts for Joint Resurfacing In A Canine Patellofemoral
Joint Model", summarizing her incredible thesis work establishing a method to machine live tissue!

Kim wrapped it up by sharing her work on "Investigating Nonlinear Intrinsic Viscoelasticity of Collagen Type II in Immature Bovine Articular Cartilage".

Dr. Ateshian also took the stage at the Bed Rock concert and provided some back up vocals for "Ride Sally Ride"! I'd post proof but he probably wouldn't let me graduate.

Everyone's presentations were well received and garnered interest and engagement in from their attendees. The remainder of SB3C was packed with other engaging talks, networking, and hanging with the Columbia crew at a local burger bar! Looking forward to next year!
